The flexible tripod works well on uneven surfaces because the legs can flex to adjust to the different levels. The other model included has an adjustable head so you can film at different angles, although I dont use that option too much. Not that I would recommend this for covert operations :) but, my daughters like to set the camera on the tripod in a room and leave it running to get candid shots of our family gatherings, or they just set up and film themselves having fun.
