I gave this as a gift, but before wrapping it, I checked it out and thought it was pretty good, maybe a bit hoaky as the screen protector affixes to your ipod. The case itself does not have the protector on it. No complaints from the person I gave it to and he is using it now.

I bought this case with my 160 GB ipod in January 2008. The case is extremely sturdy. The screen protector lasted almost two years – it’s still intact, just a little dirty. I’ve dropped my ipod several times, and the case really protected it outstandingly. It sustained a few scratches, but my ipod remains untouched and good as new. The case is still in pretty good condition as well. It’s very sleek and not bulky, so it fits anywhere and doesn’t look unnecessarily huge like other cases. Highly recommend it.

Bought this for my son and its been holding up pretty well and seems tough enough to withstand multiple drops. It does eventually scrape up and some of the black paint is missing and you can now see the metal and yet, the whole point was to protect his ipod, and it has surely done that. I would suggest the manufacturer to add double paint coats so that it would hold up better to the scrapes. Other than that, no complaints.

I need a rugged case for my iPod, and I hoped that this one would outlast the silicone one I had previously. I like the concept, but the screen protector is an extra hassle, and the case itself had issues with fit and finish. In particular, it is difficult to close the case initially (something other reviewers mentioned). This is due to the thickness of the foam padding inside. It is a reasonable option, but I wouldn’t say that it was outstanding.
