This is a very well-made product that does a good job protecting the PRS-600 Sony eBook. The problem is that the combination of the lighting design, and inherently glossy screen, makes night reading (for me in bed with the lights out trying to not disturb my bride) a tough situation. The glare is too much. One can change angles of body, lamp, and eBook to improve it abit, but it’s such annoyance to do that. I like the Sony eBook, but hope that I can come up with a better light. If not I will sell the whole thing on eBay and try the new NOOK.

The Sony reader cover with light works fantastic, it really help when reading in the dark or with low intensity lightning. Only set back…I did not shipped directly to Puerto Rico…had to delivered to IL and a friend brought it to me over the holidays…Give me a good reason why no ship to Puerto Rico if we have UPS, FedEx, USPS, DHL…US$, Visa, MC, Diners, AMEX… Anyway all good just complain about shipping…

I really like this ebook cover. It was a bit pricey but if you have it you might as well enjoy it. It makes a good protective cover and it looks and feels nice. This item has two settings for the light: low and high, but I coudn’t see much difference between the low and high. It uses one AAA battery and lasts very long. In all it’s not perfect. The light itself is a bit difussed and thus makes it hard to read in complete darkness. Better than reading with no light at all.

This cover with light has bought even more enjoyment out of the PRS-600. The 600’s touch screen can be a hassle because of glare in some lighting situations, but this lighted book cover helps by bringing a concentrated light source closer to the screen which helps to overcome those situations. The nighttime private use is perfect because it’s a small concentrated lit area for the whole screen rather than a lamp or entire room light.

The Sony ebook reader fits well into the cover. The cover offers good protection and makes you feel you are holding a real book while reading. However, the light is too dim to provide you adequate lighting when you are in a dark environment.
